The relief that families feel when the realisation that the education burden will be fulfilled allows them to focus on family and transition to a new life without the loss of a parent.
Families spend a lot of money in attempting to save the life of a parent and the consequence of this is pressure when the parent does pass on. The aim of this fund is to ease the pressure on the family during the most devastating period of their lives.

It took the news of Michael Giddy’s faith and courage in his fight against Cancer early in 2012 to galvanise old school mates into a reunion of sorts. At that stage, Mike had been battling Cancer for approximately two years, yet what immediately struck us was that his zest for life was just as contagious as it was back at school. The family were spending everything on ongoing medical bills and future treatment needs.
Mike passed away on May 25th. We had gotten to know Mike the husband, the dad, the friend, the hero and inspiration. We firmly believe that we all are placed on Earth with a purpose; God has a plan for us all. We have no doubt that Mike fulfilled his purpose which was amongst other things to touch and inspire those around him. For this reason, The Michael Hoskins Giddy Education Fund will live on in honour of Michael’s legacy by supporting young families impacted by the passing of a parent. Mike left behind 3 children and that is where the purpose of this fund was created. Education!
